Hey guys, it’s Brett from the Online-LED-Store. So we’re here to demonstrate how the LAMPHUS SolarBlast light heads work. Please take note that the information in this video is for reference only, it’s not mandatory to utilize all the functions offered with the product for it to work properly.
All the models of the SolarBlast light heads are self-contained, meaning there’s no external control module or flasher required. Each unit comes with a total of five wires for both power and functioning purpose. The red wire is meant to be connected to the positive terminal. The black wire to the ground, the yellow is for pattern selection and for synchronization between multiple units (the same or different models), the white wire is to separate multiple units into different groups and the blue wire is for high-low intensity selection.
A switch of any sort can be placed in line of the red or black wire to power the lights on and off. To change the flash pattern, you simply tap the yellow wire to the ground connection for a brief second while the light head’s connected to the power. This will advance the light head to the next flash pattern. Holding the yellow wire to the ground for three to five seconds, will advance the light directly to steady burn. And holding it for more than five seconds will advance the light head directly to off mode. This allows you to easily find their place amongst the list of flash patterns or to have these units to stay lit or to be turned off when needed.
With multiple units set at the same flash pattern, tying all the yellow wires together will allow the light heads to flash in a synchronized manner. Synchronization can be enabled between the SBLH03, SBLH04, and the SBLH06 models.
The white wire comes into play if you wish to have multiple units to flash alternately as opposed to flashing simultaneously. To assign groups, the light heads, with its white wire connected to the positive terminal will be considered as one group, while the light heads, with its white wire not connected to the positive terminal will be considered as the other group. The two groups of light will flash in an alternating fashion. Grouping adds an additional layer of complexity to the selected flash pattern, making the vehicle even more noticeable to surrounding traffic.
The blue wire allows the user to select whether to have the lights operate at 100% intensity, or at a reduced 50% intensity. The primary purpose of this function is to dim the lights for night time usage. This is especially important in rural areas or places that are not well lit as the intensely bright light can impair oncoming traffic’s ability to gauge the distance between your vehicle and theirs.
Lastly, brackets of various sizes are available separately for all models of SolarBlast light heads. The mounting bracket simplifies the setup as it provides an easy way to mount the light heads to surfaces horizontal to the road and allows you to mount multiple units with less drilling being involved.
Being self-contained, packed with features, and available in different sizes and color combinations, the LAMPHUS SolarBlast light heads are the best vehicle warning lights offered in the market today.
